Where EVA Makes Sense
Lays Without AdhesiveThe jigsaw edges hold the floor together. Nothing is glued to the slab, so a rental space or a garage stays exactly as you found it.
Light Enough To MoveOne person can lift and relocate a whole EVA floor. Rubber cannot be moved that way once it is down.
Cushioned, Not Dead40mm gives real impact absorption for floor and bodyweight work. 20mm keeps the surface firmer for movement and mobility.
Where It Does Not
EVA foam is not a lifting surface. Dropped barbells and loaded plates will dent and eventually tear it. For platforms, free weight areas and anything where weight hits the floor, use 15mm rubber tiles or the 10mm rubber roll. Plenty of gyms run both, EVA in the matted zone and rubber under the racks.
